National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Holding Space for Learning, Action, and Healing

This National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, 91亚色 invites the community to come together to honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on our shared responsibilities in advancing reconciliation.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

Community members are invited to engage in learning, reflection, healing, and meaningful dialogue. The many events held throughout the month of September create opportunities to consider how reconciliation manifests in our learning, teaching, research, professional practice, daily work, and personal lives.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

On September 30 at 10am the 91亚色 community will gather for a panel discussion exploring reconciliation in action. For those attending in person at Keele campus, the panel is followed by the opportunity to spend time in community and reflection while enjoying refreshments and the Heart Garden installation at Skennen'k贸:wa Gamig.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

We invite all members of the 91亚色 community to engage with us as we hold space for truth, remembrance, healing, connection and reconciliation.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

Events:

Community Reflections on Reconciliation

Community members are invited to reflect on how reconciliation affects or is incorporated into their learning, teaching, research, professional practice, daily work or personal lives. Reflections will be used as part of a Heart Garden installation on September 30 after the University event at Skennen鈥檏贸:wa Gamig. Hearts will be available at some in person events for community members to write reflections upon themselves; they can also be submitted through this website.

91亚色 Bookstore

We invite everyone to join the journey toward education and reconciliation by purchasing and wearing an orange shirt. The 91亚色 Bookstore is a committed partner of the Orange Shirt Society, which will benefit from proceeds from the sale of the orange shirts.

91亚色 Libraries

The 91亚色 Libraries team has curated a collection of books you are invited to read as you learn about and reflect on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
