Introducing YU Eats

91亚色鈥檚 Food Services is pleased to announce the launch of its new 鈥淵U Eats鈥 program in partnership with food services company, Chartwells, the educational division of Compass Group Canada.

Following a rigorous Request for Proposal (鈥淩FP鈥) process to identify a food services company that would mirror 91亚色鈥檚 commitment to offering an exceptional dining experience for our students, faculty and staff, Chartwells was selected.

Together with our new food services partner, 91亚色鈥檚 Food Services will build a leading-edge dining program with food outlets and menus that will engage the entire community, delivering on quality, wellness, sustainability, inclusion, authenticity and affordability.

The University aims to provide the community with the best quality of food and food options on campus. Food services are integral to providing a positive student experience and to community development, particularly on our campuses.

The new 鈥淵U Eats鈥 program, which will be launched this fall, will bring many exciting enhancements in the coming months including:

  • Scratch-made meals that are authentically prepared by new culinary teams led by Chef Roderick Gruffydd, Director of Culinary.聽 YU Eats also welcomes Glendon鈥檚 new Executive Chef, Frederic Pouch.
  • Menu rotations that provide greater variety and a wider range of global fare that reflects the diversity of the 91亚色 community.
  • Inclusion of progressive Indigenous cuisine in partnership with Chef Jenni Lessard based in the Qu鈥橝ppelle Valley in Saskatchewan, on Treaty Four Territory and the Homeland of the M茅tis
  • A significant increase in the availability of nutritious plant-based meals.
  • Coffee from Birch Bark Coffee Co., a First Nations owned business that offers organic, Fair Trade and SPP-certified coffees.
  • New franchise outlets including Copper Branch and Palgong Bubble Tea.
  • Partnerships with local chefs and food halls to provide experiences including the Virtual Kitchen Collective and the Upper East Food Club.
  • A new online catering portal, Spoonfed, that includes discounts for student organizations.
  • Local sourcing, micro-farming, waste reduction and other sustainability and food security programs.

Les Services alimentaires de l鈥橴niversit茅 91亚色 ont le plaisir d鈥檃nnoncer le lancement de leur nouveau programme YU Eats en partenariat avec Chartwells, la division 脡ducation de l鈥檈ntreprise de services de restauration Compass Canada.

La s茅lection de Chartwells r茅sulte d鈥檜n processus rigoureux de demande de propositions (DP) afin de trouver une entreprise 脿 la mesure de l鈥檈ngagement de 91亚色 d鈥檕ffrir une exp茅rience culinaire exceptionnelle 脿 sa population 茅tudiante, 脿 son corps professoral et 脿 son personnel.

Avec ce nouveau partenaire, les Services alimentaires de 91亚色 茅tabliront un programme de restauration de pointe : les points de vente et les menus sauront plaire 脿 l鈥檈nsemble de la communaut茅 en mariant qualit茅, nutrition, durabilit茅, inclusion, authenticit茅 et prix abordables.

91亚色 vise 脿 fournir d鈥檈xcellentes options alimentaires et la meilleure qualit茅 possible sur ses campus, deux 茅l茅ments cl茅s d鈥檜ne exp茅rience 茅tudiante positive et d鈥檜ne communaut茅 soud茅e.

Le nouveau YU Eats sera lanc茅 cet automne; il y aura de nombreuses innovations alimentaires dans les mois 脿 venir :

  • Des plats maison authentiques seront pr茅par茅s sous la direction du chef Roderick Gruffydd, directeur culinaire; Frederic Pouch rejoindra YU Eats en tant que nouveau chef de cuisine 脿 Glendon;
  • Des rotations de menus offriront une plus grande vari茅t茅 de plats internationaux refl茅tant la diversit茅 de la communaut茅 de 91亚色;
  • Des plats autochtones seront introduits en partenariat avec la chef Jenni Lessard, qui r茅side dans la vall茅e Qu鈥橝ppelle en Saskatchewan, territoire du Trait茅 no聽4 et patrie m茅tisse.
  • L鈥檕ffre de repas nutritifs 脿 base de plantes sera plus grande;
  • On servira du caf茅 biologique et 茅quitable de Birch Bark Coffee Co, une entreprise autochtone certifi茅e SPP;
  • Copper Branch et Palgong Bubble Tea figureront parmi les nouvelles franchises de restauration;
  • Des partenariats avec des chefs locaux et des halles alimentaires comme Virtual Kitchen Collective et Upper East Food Club permettront d鈥檕ffrir d鈥檃utres exp茅riences;
  • Un nouveau portail, Spoonfed, inclura des rabais pour les organisations 茅tudiantes;
  • La priorit茅 sera donn茅e aux produits locaux et 脿 ceux de microfermes ainsi qu鈥櫭 des programmes de durabilit茅 et de s茅curit茅 alimentaire (comme des programmes de r茅duction des d茅chets).
