The Wellness Impact Lab (WIL) is proud to celebrate the contributions of Nebiyou (Neb) Timotweos, a Dahdaleh Institute Global Health Intern. Recently named a recipient of the prestigious McCall MacBain Scholarship, Neb was featured in 91ɫ’s YFile story, “91ɫ student earns top Canadian leadership scholarship”.
Known for his warmth, leadership, and commitment to community engagement, Neb has become a valued contributor to both the Wellness Impact Lab and The Climate Collective (TCC) initiatives. Passionate about collaboration and youth empowerment, he has helped create spaces where students and community members can engage in meaningful conversations about climate, wellbeing, and social connection.
Reflecting on his experience with the Wellness Impact Lab, Neb shared:
“This work has not only strengthened me professionally but has also shaped me deeply as a person. It has grounded me in purpose, connected me with incredible mentors and peers, and reminded me that leadership is ultimately about service to others. As I continue my journey, I look forward to carrying these lessons forward and applying them in ways that create meaningful and lasting impact within our communities and beyond.”
Among his many contributions, Neb helped organize the ‘The Building Blocks of Us: A Climate Reflection Circle for Men’ April 4, 2026 event by Brothers4Brothers and TCC, which encouraged open conversations about community, identity, and personal growth. He also partnered with WIL Lab Coordinator Sadra Toossi to support engagement in Gentlemen’s Climate Cafés, helping foster an inclusive and supportive environment for men to explore climate emotions and mental wellbeing. Neb played an important role in coordinating the Equity Health Literacy Project and TCC collaborative event on December 10, 2025, at the Carville Library in Maple. Neb’s leadership on these initiatives reflects his ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships between students and community organizations while advancing dialogue around equity, health literacy, and climate engagement.
The Wellness Impact Lab congratulates Neb on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to seeing the continued impact of his leadership and service in the years ahead.
