Post

Published on October 15, 2026

On Wednesday, October 14, Dahdaleh interim director Dr. Mary Wiktorowicz, Dahdaleh graduate student scholar and PhD candidate in Social Anthropology Yuliya Chorna, and Dr. Elizabeth Rea, Associate Medical Officer of Health, Tuberculosis Program at Toronto Public Health, had a meeting with Hon. Robert Oliphant to discuss the submission to Global Affairs Canada's Foreign Policy Review. The submission calls for global health to be a primary pillar of Canadian foreign policy, highlighting how investing in ending Tuberculosis is important for Canadian health security, public health resilience, reciprocal global learning and, most of all - global public good.

Moving forward, Stop TB Canada鈥檚 recommendation is adopting a whole-of-government Canadian Global Health Strategy and supporting a consultative multi-stakeholder forum to ensure whole-of-society approach to global health.

Thank you, MP Oliphant and the team, for the great conversation and engaging with us!

"Stop TB Canada plays a vital role in championing infectious-disease resilience, strengthening global health governance, and ensuring equitable access to care both at home and abroad. I was proud to meet with Yuliya Chorna and delegates from Stop TB Canada to discuss their vital advocacy and recommendations for Canada's global health priorities, and I thank them for their dedication to building a healthier, more secure world for all."
