2026 Global Health at a Crossroads: Building a Sustainable Future for Global Health in an Era of Divestment
Our initiative, the , is a simulation-based, experiential learning program modeled on the World Health Organization (WHO)'s decision-making body: the World Health Assembly (WHA). Its goal is to enhance collaborative governance skills in addressing global challenges, like the . Through debates, research briefs, and formal resolutions, students generate and test innovative solutions on the simulation theme. This ground-breaking initiative equips students with research, collaboration, debate, diplomacy, and policy writing skills.
For the FW25 school year, the WHA Simulation has been converted to a fourth-year undergraduate course (). Students from across the Faculty of Health had the opportunity to enroll in the course and spend a full term engaged in experiential learning. Students have been immersed in researching and engaging with the global health discourse about this years theme - Global Health at a Crossroads: Building a Sustainable Future for Global Health in an era of Divestment - as member state delegates, representing their countries in the final WHA Simulation event taking place on April 29th, 2026.

Global health students from the World Health Assembly Simulation course (GH 4220) will act as member delegates engaging in the debates. The WHA Sim is an excellent opportunity to learn more about this innovative course!
About Observers: While Observers do not have voting rights, they can attend meetings and sub-committee sessions, access WHA Sim documents, and contribute during Q&A sessions. Their role is to observe, foster collaboration, and stay informed on global health policies and resolutions.
