Through Dr. Godfred Boateng's Lab at the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research, Global and Environmental Health Lab, I was presented the opportunity to submit an abstract to the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) 2025 Conference. This conference took place from February 20th- 23rd 2025. CUGH, which comprises of 190 academic institutions and organizations, provides a unique opportunity for global health advocates to come together and engage in knowledge mobilization and translation through poster presentations, oral presentations, moderated sessions, networking events and films.

My abstract for the CUGH Conference was accepted on the following research topic I have been working on since Spring 2024: "Intergenerational Beliefs of Mental Health and Policing and its Implications for Mental Health Care among Black Youth". As my topic is quite unexplored, my abstract was submitted into the CUGH student poster competition. As a result, I was given the opportunity to do a poster presentation on my topic on two days of the conference. I received a lot of positive feedback on my poster. I was also given helpful tips that I plan to use in a manuscript for publication.

Aside from presenting, I was able to attend moderated sessions on the following topics: "Advocacy for Global Health Partnerships: Towards Equitable Global Health Partnerships", "Long Covid: An Emerging Global Health Crisis", and "Special Session: Global Health Under Threat". These sessions were incredibly enlightening, especially as they included experts from all over the world. In particular, I found the "Global Health Under Threat" session interesting as it discussed the gains in health obtained through global health as well as advocated the need for work to be centered by LMICs, with increased collaboration from researchers in LMICs.

To conclude, the CUGH conference was an extremely enriching experience for me. Not only was I able to learn from global advocates and experts, I was also able to form meaningful connections. Overall, this conference has increased my drive and passion for global health.
