
Fitsum Hadgu Woldeyohannes is an experienced health economist and global health expert with a strong focus on economic evaluations, health financing, and provider payment reforms. His professional and academic journey has been dedicated to strengthening health systems and advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by generating evidence to inform sustainable and equitable health financing policies. With years of experience across Ethiopia, Uganda, and Canada, Fitsum brings a unique blend of expertise from both developing and developed contexts. He has led and contributed to major reform initiatives, including overseeing a health financing project in Ethiopia aimed at reforming provider payment systems in Ethiopia. Currently pursuing a PhD in Global Health at 91ÑÇÉ« in Canada, Fitsum’s doctoral research focuses on assessing equity considerations in strategic health purchasing reforms across Sub-Saharan Africa. Passionate about leveraging data-driven insights for impact, Fitsum is skilled in conducting rigorous economic analyses to optimize resource allocation, improve healthcare efficiency, and enhance financial protection for vulnerable populations.
