Global Legal Epidemiology, Global Health Intern [FW23-24; S24; FW24-25]
Intern

Laura is currently pursuing an Honours BSc in Global Health at 91ÑÇÉ«, with a special interest in Health Policy and Systems. Her passion for global health was sparked by her experiences as an immigrant, which deepened her interest in the intersection of international law and population health, particularly in combating global health threats such as the tobacco epidemic.
Now, as a Research Assistant under the supervision of Dr. Mathieu Poirier, Laura supports the work of the Global Legal Epidemiology team at the Global Strategy Lab. Her work involves assisting with literature reviews on gendered smoking and assessing the gendered impacts of tobacco control interventions. Laura’s current project examines how gender considerations are integrated into tobacco control research. Previously, she gained valuable experience as an intern at the Global Health: Wellness Impact Lab, working with Dr. Harvey Skinner and Susan Harris.
