Job description
Under the supervision of Professor Mathieu Poirier, the AMR Policy Accelerator Research Dissemination and Design Research Assistant 3 (for up to 10 hours per week) will work closely with the Communications and Research teams to support knowledge mobilization planning and execution.
The AMR Policy Accelerator (AMRPA) is an initiative of the Global Strategy Lab, tasked with accelerating global action against AMR through research and policy innovation. We undertake three programs of work:
- Providing Advisory Services to governments, international organizations, and civil society in response to request for evidence on AMR policy, implementation and evaluation;
- Work with leading experts in the field to generate actionable Policy Research; and
- Support policy development and research around the world through a suite of Capacity Building programs,
Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:
- Supporting the development of draft plain language summaries and messaging from research.
- Supporting the design and layout of PowerPoint presentations, graphics, infographics and videos for knowledge mobilization.
- Researching appropriate media channels and other online opportunities for knowledge mobilization to reach target audiences.
- Updating website, including legacy pages, ensuring links appropriately.
- Collecting images and video footage of the lab and researchers.
- Additional communications and knowledge mobilization activities.
Type of research experience the student(s) will receive:
- Analytical and critical thinking;
- Preparing presentations and written outputs of research;
- Editing and formatting content for several audiences;
Type of training and support that will be provided to the student(s) in carrying out these research activities:
- Professional communication and mentorship as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Knowledge Translation planning, considering objectives, audience and tactics.
- Development of materials for the purpose of knowledge translation: graphics, presentations, social media content.
- Communications & promotion: skills to best communicate key messages from research content.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student at 91ÑÇÉ«. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged.
- Demonstrated interest in research communications
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team with researchers, students, and staff.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and take initiative.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
