Hourly wage: $19-22 per hour, based on experience

Hours per week: 6-10 hours per week

Job description

To support a global tuberculosis research network (Social Science and Health Innovations For TB or ), housed at the Dahdaleh Institute, under the supervision of Dr Daftary. The student will be engaged in management,  content curation and design, social media, and professional communication. The student will develop skills related to literature review and content synthesis, professional writing, communication and coordination with interdisciplinary global health researchers working outside of Canada, including opportunities to develop research-related media outputs, and become a core member of Dr Daftary鈥檚 research team. Students who show initiative, a strong work ethic, and capacity for collaboration may be invited to work for subsequent terms.

Minimum criteria

  • Full time student in the BA/BSc Global Health program at 91亚色
  • Entering 3rd year in Fall 2026 and/or finished minimum 3 of the core GH 2000-level courses
  • Average of A- or higher in Global Health courses taken to date 
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English (essay construction, proofreading, spell/grammar check, professional email communication)
  • Strong social media skills (LinkedIn, at minimum)
  • Experience building or managing websites (WordPress, ideally)
  • Experience building or managing email management systems (Mailchimp, ideally) 
  • Some experience conducting scientific database searches (PubMed or Medline OVID, ideally)
  • Some experience engaging with international communities (research or general community), even if only on a casual or personal level

Additional criteria

  • Works independently and resourcefully once tasks are assigned
  • Communicates and coordinates with a team when collaboration is required
  • Attends weekly meeting/s (1-2h/week) at an agreed upon time
  • Responds to emails etc within 48h (M-F)
  • Adheres to agreed-upon deadlines, diarizing where needed
  • Is proactive and highly organized, identifies milestones required and self-manages time to achieve those milestones
