About the Project
BioCAM4 is a multi-year, international research project focused on climate action, biodiversity, and environmental governance. The project places strong emphasis on training, team-based learning, and professional research practices in an institutional setting.
This role is designed for an undergraduate student seeking structured research and communications training within a collaborative team environment.
Role Overview
The Graphic Design & Communications Assistant supports the communication, knowledge mobilization, and dissemination activities of the BioCAM4 project. The role combines creative production, research support, and team-based coordination.
The successful candidate will work closely with the project leadership and team, and participate fully in the project’s structured training and governance practices.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant will:
- Support theÌýcommunication and disseminationÌýof the BioCAM4ÌýprojectÌý
- AssistÌýwith theÌýcoordination of project-relatedÌýeventsÌý
- Contribute to theÌýdevelopment of video scriptsÌýfor social media, the project website, and other disseminationÌýplatformsÌý
- DesignÌýillustrations, graphics, and visual elementsÌýfor infographics, social media posts, and other communication outputs (e.g., LinkedIn)Ìý
- Support theÌýwriting and editingÌýof blogs, briefs, and other communicationÌýmaterialsÌý
- Coordinate communication outputs andÌýpresent progress and deliverables to the teamÌý
Research & Knowledge Mobilization Activities
The student will be engaged in:
- Gathering data from:Ìý
- multilateral environmental agreementsÌý
- international and domestic policy documentsÌý
- research organizations and project partnersÌý
- media sourcesÌý
- Writing and editingÌývideo scriptsÌýthat translate research findings into accessibleÌýformats
- LearningÌýknowledge mobilization practices, including:Ìý
- summarizing research in plain languageÌý
- adapting content for non-academic professional audiencesÌý
- integrating graphical and visual elementsÌý
- ResearchingÌýbest practices in research communicationÌýto inform the creation of engaging videos and social mediaÌýcontentÌý
Qualifications
Required
- CurrentÌýundergraduate student at 91ÑÇÉ«Ìý(students from diverse programs encouraged)Ìý
- ExcellentÌýwritten, oral, and presentation skillsÌý
- DemonstratedÌýorganizational and time-managementÌýskillsÌý
- Ability to workÌýreliably within a structured teamÌýenvironmentÌý
- Demonstrated willingness to:Ìý
- follow shared systems andÌýprocessesÌý
- meet regularÌýdeadlinesÌý
- communicate clearly andÌýprofessionallyÌý
Assets
- Skills inÌýgraphic design, video editing, or animationÌý
- Experience with:Ìý
- Office 365 applicationsÌý
- spreadsheets, shared documents, and structured filing systemsÌý
- WordPress and/or social media platformsÌý
- Interest inÌýenvironmental governance, planetary health, global health, or global governanceÌý
- Familiarity with research methods (qualitative, quantitative, or integrative)Ìý
- Experience working in team-based research or projectÌýenvironmentsÌý
- Strong analytical skills for organizing and categorizing complexÌýinformationÌý
