Previously, under the supervision of Dr. Penney, Serina was a research assistant with the Global Food System and Policy Research team, contributing to a systems-informed evaluation of Canada’s food and nutrition surveillance system.

Currently, she contributes to research supporting co-design methods aimed at engaging global health policy makers in evidence generation to inform policy actions.

Serina’s research interests are centered in promoting health through effective policy. She hopes to become a catalyst for meaningful transformation within the global health atmosphere.
