On February 6, 2023, densely populated cities and towns bordering along Türkiye and Syria were struck by a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake followed by a 7.5 earthquake. As the death toll climbed quickly to over 40,000, hundreds of thousands were displaced and injured in freezing temperatures. This earthquake has been the strongest to hit the region in the last century. In efforts to provide relief, volunteers organized an in-kind donation drive at the Dahdaleh Institute.
The Dahdaleh Institute saw an overwhelming amount of in-kind donations for earthquake relief in Türkiye over the course of the last few weeks. With the help of several wonderful volunteers, the donation drive has been completed after two generous rounds of collections. All proceeds have been brought to a donation centre in the GTA for shipment organized by the Turkish Embassy in collaboration with Turkish Airlines.
We wish to extend a heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed. Your contributions will soon reach those who have been left devastated by the earthquakes in Türkiye. There is no such thing as too small of a donation, and you truly made a difference.
On February 20, 2023, another major earthquake of 6.3 magnitude struck Hatay, Türkiye. At least 6 have died, and hundreds have been injured. This further exacerbates suffering and efforts to rescue and rebuild. While the donation drive has ended, please consider making monetary donations to continue aid relief efforts. Organizations such as the and give much needed support both in Türkiye and Syria.

Thank you again for your generous donations during this difficult time.
