Research on urban health and environments at EUC involves interdisciplinary attention to the ways in which social processes intersect with health, well-being and sexuality for urban communities. We also examine how urbanization impacts the environment and creates new ecologies of city life. In recent years, several research projects have sought to understand the urban contexts for pandemics.

Community Partnerships
Partnering with ActionDignity, a community-based organization that facilitates the collective voice of Calgary鈥檚 ethno-cultural communities, Professor Jennifer Hyndman and postdoctoral fellow Dr Bronwyn Bragg are examining how policy and immigration status make some workers more vulnerable to COVID-19 in Alberta鈥檚 largest meat processing facilities.
