Additional Resources

Effective October 31, 2025—The Faculty of Graduate Studies will no longer be processing ethics protocols at the same time as research proposals. Students must first submit their research proposal using the to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for approval. Upon receiving approval, they can proceed to the Office of Research Ethics to submit their ethics protocol separately on the new YU Ethics Review portal, which will launch on January 20, 2026. Do not submit any ethics documentation with the research proposal.

For students: To submit your research proposal, login to our graduate proposal milestone portal. The portal will prompt you to upload all mandatory forms and supporting documents with your submission. We have created a help guide (.pdf) to assist you with its navigation.

Please note that TD1 and TD2 forms are no longer required or accepted in the proposal milestone portal. After submission, your proposal milestone is sent to your graduate program and supervisory members for review and approval within the system; this replaces the TD1 form. The TD2 form has been replaced by the ORE’s new YU Ethics Review online system for research ethics protocols.

For staff/faculty members: To view proposal milestone submissions, login via graduate proposal milestone portal.
