Students Gain Insight at Industry and Career Exploration Panel and Networking Session

At the latest Industry and Career Exploration Panel and Networking Session, students heard directly from industry professionals working in vaccine production and biotech, not just about the roles themselves, but how to actually get there after completing their Microcredential or graduate training.

The panel led practical conversations around hiring trends, in demand skills, and what employers are really looking for right now. And during the post panel networking session, students continued those conversations one on one and started building connections with industry experts.

Unique master’s program opens doors to biotechnology careers

When Ida Fazeli graduated with a bachelor of science in molecular biology, she weighed a decision many students face: whether to continue studies in science, pursue a business degree or enter the workforce and gain the industry experience she craved. 91��ɫ’s Master of Biotechnology Management (MBM) program provided an answer. One of a kind in Canada, the program offers students training in biotechnology theory and practice, a diploma in business management and two to three terms of paid internship experience. The double credential offered at 91��ɫ’s Markham Campus allowed Fazeli to maximize career options by adding business to her STEM background.

Biotech Employers Engaged with Emerging Biotech Talent

Last week, our campus brought biotech employers together with students from the Master of Biotechnology Management (MBM), the Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology, and the Micro credential in Vaccine Production and Quality Assurance to share real world hiring perspectives and build connections.

Employers spoke candidly about what they look for in early career hires, the skills that help new graduates get up to speed quickly, and how internships connect to real projects across biotech and life sciences.

Capstone Poster Event Showcases Industry‑Engaged Biotech Learning

Last week, our Master of Biotechnology Management and Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology Capstone Poster Event showed what’s possible when biotech leaders and graduate students collaborate — offering a glimpse into the future of learning: hands-on, connected, and driven by real-world challenges.
