Third year KINE undergraduate students, Victor Lai聽made it to the semi-finals (third place) in the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships. He is the first Canadian to get to this level in the Open era since it started.
The YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships (originally the All England Badminton Championships) first started on 4 April 1899 at the London Scottish Drill Hall in Westminster, London. The inaugural Open featured only doubles events, with singles added the following year in 1900.
