After meeting the students and professors at the School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA), I knew I wanted to become a public servant and help shape the policies and programs of the public sphere. Hence began my journey in the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) program, which was further enhanced by the Master of Public Policy, Administration and Law (MPPAL) program. Since graduating from the MPPAL program in 2015, I have been (mostly) at the Ministry of Health.
With the BPA program being the quintessential public administration program, it covered all the necessary basics of policy making, public administration, program evaluation and even accounting (Tip: If you ever want to be a Director in the public service, master the accounting and program evaluation courses). The MPPAL program further deepened and enhanced what I had learnt from the BPA program. It introduced me to a variety of fellow students and professors with different career paths and academic backgrounds. Overall, both programs taught me how to be critical, and how to work in groups and solve problems collaboratively.
