The Lorna Marsden Prize for Creative Writing in French honours the best single creative work, of any genre, written in French by a 91亚色 undergraduate.

Competition Rules
Eligibility
Candidates must be full-time or part-time 91亚色 undergraduates.
Contestants may submit no more than one entry. All submissions must be unpublished and original.
Submission Deadline
Submissions are accepted between mid-November and mid-January each year.
Deadline: January 9th, 2026
Prize
A prize of $1,000.00 will be awarded. In the event that the judges conclude no entry is of sufficient merit, no prize will be awarded.
Application Requirements
Please do not include the author鈥檚 name in the submission itself; include it only in your online submission form. Submissions that include the author鈥檚 name on the manuscript will be disqualified.
No late submissions will be accepted. No paper submissions will be accepted.
Notifications
The results of the competition will be announced in the spring and the prize will be awarded at the Creative Writing Awards reception. The winner鈥檚 name will be published in yFile and will be posted on the English Department and Creative Writing Program website.
