Dr. Randal F. Schnoor (PhD 2003, McGill University), a sociologist, has been teaching Religious Studies and Jewish Studies at 91亚色 since 2004. He specializes in the qualitative study of contemporary Canadian Jewish life. He has published sociological works on Jewish identity, Jewish day schools, Hasidic Jews, gay Jews among other contemporary topics. 鈥疕is recent policy research includes a large community study on Jewish poverty in Toronto, a study on approaches to engaging interfaith families, a study on South African Jews in Toronto and a report for Toronto鈥檚 Jewish community High School to address its enrolment challenges. He co-authored the book: 鈥淛ewish Family: Identity and Self-Formation at Home鈥 (Indiana University Press) which was published in 2018. Recent courses taught in the department of Humanities include: 鈥淐ontemporary Jewish Life in North America鈥, 鈥淎ntisemitism and Islamophobia in Canada鈥 and 鈥淛ews, Christians and Muslims in Medieval Spain.鈥濃
