Alena Kimakova specializes in the analysis of political and economic determinants of public policy. She is cross-appointed between the Department of Economics and the School of Public Policy and Administration, and teaches courses in international economics, economic development, political economy and research methods including program evaluation. She received her Ph.D. in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University, and has previously worked as an economist for Commerzbank Capital Markets.
