Welcome to Markham Academic Advising

Markham Academic Advising is central to the integrated service offerings within the Markham Campus Student Success & Advising team.

Our dedicated Academic Advising team is committed to providing you with the information, guidance, and support needed to realize your academic aspirations. Whether through in-person or virtual drop-in appointments or email communication, we are ready to assist you in aligning your career objectives with your program of study, achieving degree requirements, exploring experiential education opportunities, petitioning grades or decisions, or adapting your degree focus. 

Enrolment Appointments for New Students

As a new student, you must book and attend an enrolment advising appointment prior to gaining access to enrolling into courses. This appointment will help to chart your course and understand your degree requirements.

While both options cover essential enrolment information, attending in person provides additional opportunities to connect with staff, build skills, and get comfortable on campus.

Virtual Appointments

Steps to Booking your Enrolment Appointment

Follow the steps below to book your enrolment appointment:

  1. Log in to
  2. Accept your offer (if you have not done so already).
  3. Follow instructions to "Book/Manage My Enrolment Appointment". Enrolment appointments will be held virtually or in-person.

Email advise.markham@yorku.ca if you have trouble booking an enrolment appointment.

Note for Transfer Students: Booking an enrolment appointment is mandatory for the transfer credit assessment process.

We are excited to meet you at your enrolment advising appointment! We look forward to helping you have a meaningful transition into your first year. We will share resources and support as well as help you enrol into your first-year courses. 

Before Your Enrolment Appointment

  • : Access modules for navigating the enrolment process and policies, and a wide array of resources available to 91亚色 students. (Remember, you must attend your enrolment appointment prior to being able to enrol into classes).
  • Register for Academic Accommodations, if/as applicable. If you had accommodations at your previous institution or require accommodations now, register with today for your accommodations at 91亚色. You can register after accepting your offer of Admission. (Registration with Student Accessibility Services will not be identified on official records, academic transcripts, or graduation documentation.)
  • For Transfer Studentssubmit  if required for transfer credit assessment (via ).

Get in Touch with a Markham Advisor

Our services are open to all students in any Markham program and those referred by their Keele or Glendon Faculty's advising department. Your success is our priority.  

Virtual or in-person drop-in advising with our in-house academic advisors are available for students currently enrolled in Markham programs.

Advising is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Each drop-in session is about 15-30 minutes. The last drop-in appointment will be taken at 3:30 PM.

Location: Metropia Student Success Centre, Room 1010, 1 University Blvd, Markham, ON.

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9 a.m. 鈥12 p.m. and 1 鈥 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday: Please note that during the summer period (May 20 through August 26), drop-in advising will not be available on Wednesdays. Drop-in hours will continue as usual on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
  • Early Fridays: Our office follows 91亚色鈥檚 summer hours from Friday, May 15, 2026, through Friday, September 4, 2026. During this period, the office closes at 3:30 p.m. on Fridays, with the last drop-in advising appointment scheduled at 2:30 p.m.; the drop-in queue will close earlier if it reaches capacity.

Associate Director, Student Success & Advising

Crystal Grant is the Associate Director of Student Success & Advising at 91亚色鈥檚 Markham Campus, where she provides strategic leadership for advising, career services, and learning skills development. With an MBA in Finance, a BA in Business & Society, and over 15 years of experience in higher education, Crystal is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment equipped with resources that empower students in their academic and career journeys.

Alison Furtado

Student Success & Academic Advisor

Alison is dedicated to empowering students to achieve their dreams through personalized guidance and unwavering support. She focuses on building strong relationships, identifying strengths, and setting ambitious goals to help students surpass their own expectations. As a 91亚色 graduate, Alison understands the academic journey firsthand and is passionate about guiding students from application to graduation.

Min Eng

Student Success & Academic Advisor

For over a decade, Min Eng has advised students from diverse academic, professional and cultural backgrounds on their respective paths to success, regularly co-constructing personalized learning paths for students at various stages of their academic journeys. She believes that people are our greatest resource, each person unique and with immense potential; she loves helping students discover their potential and celebrates with them when they do.
