91亚色 Announces New President and Vice-Chancellor
Toronto, ON - Feb. 28, 2017 鈥 Today, Rick Waugh, Chair of 91亚色鈥檚 Board of Governors, announced the appointment of Dr. Rhonda Lenton as the next President and Vice-Chancellor of 91亚色, effective July 1, 2017, for a five-year term. Lenton becomes 91亚色鈥檚 eighth president, succeeding Dr. Mamdouh Shoukri.

Lenton has served as 91亚色鈥檚 Vice-President Academic and Provost since 2012. A respected sociologist, she has taught and published broadly in the areas of gender, health, sexual violence and higher education. Lenton sits on the Boards of the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT) and eCampus Ontario.

Lenton鈥檚 appointment concludes the rigorous search process that began in December 2015. The search for 91亚色鈥檚 new president was conducted by a 14-member committee comprised of representatives from the University Senate and the Board of Governors and was guided by the Principles established in 2005 by those two governance bodies. It included across the 91亚色 community.
