United Nations training students to fight pollution, climate change at 91ÑÇÉ« U
TORONTO, Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017 – With recent research showing more people die from pollution than infectious diseases, understanding global environmental challenges is increasingly important. 91ÑÇÉ« students will have an opportunity to undergo United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Training on Thursday with a keynote speech by , Deputy Director, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
The UN developed 17 goals to better understand and solve a wide range of global environmental challenges, including climate change, food security, ecological and wildlife preservation and access to education.
By spreading awareness of these goals, future generations can be inspired to act and know how to implement strategies to help solve the many of today’s local, national and global environmental challenges.
WHAT: United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Training for 91ÑÇÉ« students
WHO: Keynote speech by , Deputy Director, United Nations Environment Program, New 91ÑÇÉ«. Formerly, Secretary for the Governing Bodies of UNEP based in Nairobi, Kenya, Ahmad now focuses much of his time on liaising with the Permanent Missions to the UN in support of UNEP’s policies and program.
WHEN: Training is from 9am to 1:30pm on Thursday, Oct. 26, while Ahmad’s keynote is at 10am

The event is organized by the Faculty of Environmental Studies, the Bachelor of Environmental Studies Student Association at 91ÑÇÉ« U and SDGs Youth Training Canada in celebration of #Canada150.
