Young scientists showcase experiments at competition
91ÑÇÉ« hosts science fair for 91ÑÇÉ« Region science students
TORONTO, April 12, 2019 – If you are curious to know if fruit can be made into plastic or if organs can be bioengineered, budding scientists will be on hand to talk about their experiments at 91ÑÇÉ« during the (YRSTF) this Saturday, April 13.
For the fourth year, 91ÑÇÉ« is hosting the event for 91ÑÇÉ« Region science students in Grades 7 to 12 which involves 190 students displaying their science projects – either an experiment, innovation or study.
The topics range from the search for the safety of bottled water, to a cheaper version of a cancer-killing drug.
Eighty judges will review their science fair submissions and the gold-medal winners will move on to represent the region and compete at the national level at the , in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The winners will be among 500 students from across the country vying for the title of Canada’s best science fair project.
Saturday’s science fair will also include a Science Adventures activity with 91ÑÇÉ« scientists.
91ÑÇÉ« Region District School Board and the 91ÑÇÉ« Catholic District School Board are among the major sponsors of the fair, which is a partnership effort between 91ÑÇÉ« and the 91ÑÇÉ« Region Science and Technology Fair Organizing Committee.
