TORONTO, August 14, 2018 ­­– Yesterday the Ontario government announced a new online retail model that will allow cannabis to be sold online and through private retailers. Under the new planned regulation, the Ontario Cannabis Store will provide an online platform for the sale which will be followed by a private retail model by April 1, 2019. Consumers 19 and older will be able to purchase cannabis via an online retail platform provided by the Ontario Cannabis Store.Ìý The OCS online channel will include a verification system that will ensure safe at-home delivery for cannabis products.

But what will the new provincial change for the sale of cannabis mean for public health?

Researchers at 91ÑÇÉ« have identified the most important organizations around the world that contribute to health and would need to be mobilized quickly in the event of an international health emergency like a pandemic.

TORONTO, Thursday September 14, 2017 –91ÑÇÉ« Professor Steven Hoffman is available for interviews about the House of Commons (HESA) about the international dimensions of cannabis legalization.

The House of Commons is holding hearings today on Bill C-45, an Act respecting cannabis and to amend the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Criminal Code and other Acts.

As part of its study, the Committee is inviting Canadian individuals and organizations to provide written submissions that express their views on Bill C-45. The Committee also invited Canadians to request to appear as a witness before the Committee, either as an individual or as a representative of an organization.
