Social media use linked to poorer mental health in older Canadians, study finds
Seniors are considered the fastest-growing group on the Internet, but does being connected online help or hinder mental health for older adults? According to a new study published in the open access journal PLOS Global Public Health led by 91ÑÇÉ« Glendon College Associate Professor Hossam Ali-Hassan, while some Internet use such as email has been associated with mental health benefits, social media sites were linked to lower perceived mental health.Â
