IP Osgoode and the (IPIC) are thrilled to announce the winner of the fifth annual edition of :
1. In the Law Student category, the judges selected Daniel WhalenÌýas the winnerÌýfor this year’s Challenge:
Daniel won for his entry: "." Daniel Whalen is a recent graduate of Osgoode HallÌýLaw School and isÌýcurrently articling at Smart & Biggar / Fetherstonhaugh in Ottawa.
2. In the Graduate Student category, the judges did not select a winner for this year’s Challenge.
3. In the Professional category, the judges did not select a winner for this year’s Challenge.
We were pleased to receive submissions from across the country on a wide range of subjects, including: moral rights, fair dealing, fan fiction, trade-marks, IP rights in databases, patentable subject matter, copyright reform, Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), and international IP rights governance.
DanielÌýwill be receiving a prize of $1000 and, in addition to havingÌýhis winningÌýarticle showcased here on the IPilogue, the article will be considered for publication in the Canadian Intellectual Property Review (CIPR)Ìýor the Intellectual Property Journal (IPJ).
