We are honored to announce that the led by our affiliated researcher Alexandros Balasis, was shortlisted for the prestigious 2026 Waugh Family Foundation Prize (Theme: Public Engagement), administered by the (CBHA/ACHA).
While our project did not win the prize, being recognized on a national level alongside outstanding public history initiatives is a true milestone. Alexandros wants to express his gratitude to the prize committee for their consideration and for their incredibly encouraging feedback regarding our work's "strong community engagement." This recognition belongs not only to those supported the mapping project by sharing information and personal stories but to the entire Greek-Canadian community of Toronto whose stories and entrepreneurial spirit we are mapping.
