Dr Lace M. Jackson, is a Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in Social Work affiliated with the Universities of Bedfordshire and The Open University, England. Lace鈥檚 positionality as a Global Majority woman from Jamaican Caribbean heritage has shaped her current research focus on leadership and identity.

An Advanced Social Worker, Lace has substantial experience in social work and leadership practice with over 30 years in various roles within children鈥檚 services, hospital social work, mental health, education/safeguarding and child protection. In addition, Lace has led social care workforce learning and development functions, and a research institute as a C-suite executive director within the charity sector.

Lace is committed to the sphere of practice, having completed her PhD thesis in 2023, exploring the personal and professional challenges of Global Majority Leaders in the UK. Lace鈥檚 research aims to surface some of the challenges experienced by Global Majority Leaders concerning occluded organisational narratives and invisible practices of leadership and identity in a UK postcolonial context and the emancipatory ways these Diasporic leaders respond.
