Program Description:
Modern video games use artificial intelligence to create dynamic opponents that react to player decisions in real time. Microsoft games such as Halo Infinite, Gears 5, and Age of Empires IV use AI systems that manage resources, adjust tactics, and challenge players to think strategically.Â
In this project-based program, students explore how these AI systems influence gameplay and decision-making. Working in teams, participants analyze game scenarios, test different strategies, and examine how choices such as timing, resource allocation, and risk affect outcomes. By the end of the program, teams develop and present a strategy designed to outperform computer-controlled opponents, explaining how data, analysis, and strategic thinking can improve performance in competitive environments.Â
