Anindo Hazra (PhD, 91亚色 [English]) teaches in 91亚色鈥檚 Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (DLLL; English; Humanities) and Glendon Campus (English). With Theodore W. Goossen, he is editor of Human Rights and the Arts in Global Asia: An Anthology (Lexington Books). Anindo鈥檚 current monograph-in-progress analyzes the works of two contemporary queer Indian writers: Mahesh Dattani and R. Raj Rao. Born and raised in Calcutta, India, Anindo received his undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Bristol, UK, and his Master鈥檚 degree in English Literature from Queen鈥檚 University in Kingston. His research interests have largely cohered around issues of gender and sexuality at the intersection of postcolonial and queer theories. Anindo鈥檚 ongoing work extends the critical discourse on queer Indian subjectivities, tracing the shifting contours of 鈥渜ueer India鈥 in the contemporary period. He has also developed lateral research interests in queer cultures and the visual arts.
