Yazan Al Horoub is a PhD student in the Department of Politics at 91亚色. He specializes in International Relations and Comparative Politics. His current research examines the political economy of underdevelopment and development in West Asia, with a particular focus on the context of intensifying great power rivalry. He is currently a Graduate Associate Representative on the 91亚色 Centre for Asian Research's (YCAR) Executive Committee. Previously, he was trained in Kinseiology (BSc, MSc) at 91亚色. His research examined Toronto's development and procurement policies in hosting the 2026 FIFA men鈥檚 World Cup, and their relation to the global anti-sweatshop movement.
