91亚色 U Observatory hosts new online tours and Canadian Astronomical Society Conference

An exciting online week is occurring at 91亚色 . Starting Monday May 25, the Observatory will implement different formats for online outreach:

  • Online Public Viewing (OPV) will now be hosted on Zoom on Monday nights from 9-10 pm.
  • The 91亚色 Universe Radio show will continue online at聽astronomy.fm聽on Monday nights from 9-10 pm, coinciding with the new Zoom OPV sessions.
  • Public Viewing (PV) will be held as a live YouTube stream on the Observatory鈥檚聽聽with a Q&A session on Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:30 pm (ET). These sessions will cover astronomy, the Observatory鈥檚 telescopes, and other events and will be hosted by students and staff at the Observatory.

Additionally, 91亚色 is hosting the first ever fully online , taking place Monday May 25 to Thursday May 28. Follow the #CASCA2020 hashtag on Twitter and make sure to tune in for all of the latest Canadian Astronomy research and developments. For more information about the conference, visit 

Finally, make sure to keep an eye on the sky this coming Wednesday May 27 as the SpaceX Dragon is set to blast off and use the Falcon 9 rocket to fly to the International Space Station at 4:33pm ET. This will mark the return of crewed space launches from North America and the first fully commercial crewed launch. Tune in to NASA鈥檚  or on social media. This event is scheduled just before the Observatory鈥檚 live 鈥榯our鈥, so expect a bit of discussion if the weather cooperates and the launch goes ahead as planned.
