Congratulations to Madeline Salzarulo, undergraduate program assistant in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, for receiving the 2019 President鈥檚 Award. The award recognizes an individual who provides assistance to the community in a manner that exemplifies 91亚色鈥檚 values.
Her nominator expressed that 鈥渕any colleagues share my sentiments that Madeline is the rock of our undergraduate program,鈥 and commended her for her knowledge, reliability, attention to detail, patience and empathy towards students and parents, and for being a true Ambassador for 91亚色.
In her nomination package, her supporters remarked that she has 鈥渃ommented affectionately about the 鈥榩assion鈥 she has for providing support to the students and colleagues鈥 and that 鈥渟he will not stop until she has fully satisfied the need of the student.鈥 One student, who transitioned into the mathematics program from physics, shared that Madeline regularly went above and beyond the call of duty to assist him:
鈥淒uring this time of transition鈥er assistance was absolutely essential in guiding me through a difficult, and a rather unknown period of change. She went far beyond her standard job requirements鈥nd helped me find my place in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics 鈥 My transition would not have been anywhere near as easy without Madeline.鈥
A ceremony to celebrate the recipients of the President鈥檚 Staff Recognition Awards will be held at a later date.
