Program Requirements:
For the Co-op Program, student eligibility will be decided on a case-by-case basis. The key criteria are that students must be able to contribute in a professional workplace setting and should therefore have:
- Students must be enrolled full-time.
- Prior to first work term: completed a minimum of 45 credits, and have completed at least 18 remaining credits.
- Maintain an overall cumulative GPA at 5.0 and a Major GPA of 5.0. (for Fall 2026 applicants: major GPA of 5.0 is no longer required.)
- For Data Science, students must be enrolled in or have completed MATH 2130 3.00 and MATH 2131 3.00 at the time of application.
- Have completed three required sessions: Co-op Information Session; Resume and Cover Letter Fundamentals Workshop; Interview Fundamentals Workshop.
- For International students: On April 1, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updated the rules applicable to international students who wish to participate in university approved student work placements, commonly referred to as "co-ops" or "internships". To be eligible, international students must be registered in 91亚色's Co-op Program and hold a valid study permit that includes the condition that says you're allowed to work "on campus". With this condition, work placements can be obtained on or off campus. A separate co-op work permit is not required.
