Program Requirements:

For the Co-op Program, student eligibility will be decided on a case-by-case basis. The key criteria are that students must be able to contribute in a professional workplace setting and should therefore have:

1. Students must be enrolled full-time.
2. Prior to first work term: completed a minimum of 45 credits, and have completed at least 18 remaining credits.
3. Maintain an overall cumulative GPA at 5.0 and a Major GPA of 5.0. (for Fall 2026 applicants: major GPA of 5.0 is no longer required.)
4. For Data Science, students must be enrolled in or have completed MATH 2130 3.00 and MATH 2131 3.00 at the time of application.
5. Have completed three required sessions: Co-op Information Session; Resume and Cover Letter Fundamentals Workshop; Interview Fundamentals Workshop.
6. For International students: On April 1, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) updated the rules applicable to international students who wish to participate in university approved student work placements, commonly referred to as "co-ops" or "internships". To be eligible, international students must be registered in 91��ɫ's Co-op Program and hold a valid study permit that includes the condition that says you're allowed to work "on campus". With this condition, work placements can be obtained on or off campus. A separate co-op work permit is not required.  For more information, visit the , or contact the International Student Advising and Immigration Specialist Team.

For Fall 2026 Co-op Work Term

• Feb 23, 2026 Registration opens for 3 required sessions.  Login to  and check the events calendar and register for the sessions. 
  Note: this only applies to students who have not previously been admitted into the program.
• Feb 23– March 13, 2026 Complete required sessions. Visit and check events calendar for the specific dates and times
• 1:00 pm March 2 – 13, 2026 Submit an application for Fall 2026 work term via 
• 11:59 pm, March 13, 2026 Application deadline
• March 16- April 13, 2026 Applications will be reviewed, and students will be notified via email of their admission after April 13, 2026
• May 4, 2026 Co-op Job Posting Portal open for Fall positions
• May – August 2026 If admitted in the program: actively search and apply for positions
• September 2026 Fall Co-op positions begin

• July 23 - August 17, 2026 Applications will be reviewed, and students will be notified via email of their admission during the week of August 17, 2026.

• September – December 2026 If admitted in the program: actively search and apply for positions
• January 2027 Winter Co-op positions begin.
