Updating your TD1 forms when circumstances change, such as marriage, childbirth or starting a new job, helps ensure accurate income tax deductions throughout the year.

In support of 91ÑÇɫ’s sustainability initiatives, Employment T4 and T4A slips will no longer be issued in paper form.

Here’s what you need to know:

Employment T4 / T4A Slips Are Available on HR Self-Serve: Your T4 / T4A slip for the 2024 taxation year will be available on or before February 28 on HR Self-Serve () accessed through your Employee Passport 91ÑÇÉ«.

Important for First-time Users:

  • If you have never logged into HR Self Serve you need to do so before December 31, 2024.
  • Setting Up a Passport 91ÑÇÉ« Account: Anyone who does not have an Employee Passport 91ÑÇÉ« account will first need to create one in order to access HR Self Serve. Instructions can be found here /uit/faculty-and-staff-services/passport-york/#new-employees.
  • If you have difficulty setting up your Passport 91ÑÇÉ« account, please email askit@yorku.ca or call 416-736-5212, option 1.

T4 /T4A slips will be mailed to the home address on file of people who are no longer employed by 91ÑÇÉ« or are on a leave of absence when issued in February.

The university has launched a revised version of its Employee Self-Identification Survey. This revised survey will lead to a greater understanding of the university community and will provide an up-to-date picture of 91ÑÇɫ’s workforce demographics.

The revised survey will be administered through HR Self-Serve. Employees will therefore be able to log into HR Self-Serve at any time, using their Employee Passport 91ÑÇÉ« account, to update their self-identification responses, in the same way they would update any of their other personal information in HR Self-Serve.

Employees will need to use their Employee Passport 91ÑÇÉ« account to log into HR Self-Serve. As part of the Service Excellence Program (SEP), 91ÑÇɫ’s Financial Services Department (Finance), in collaboration with University Services Centre (USC), has implemented a new initiative to simplify the expense reimbursement process for the 91ÑÇÉ« community.

All expense reimbursements and other non-payroll payments issued by Finance will now be made by direct deposit into the respective bank account used for payroll deposits. This change eliminates the separate manual form, thus reducing administrative effort and resulting in simpler and faster expense reimbursements. Once faculty, instructors and staff are migrated to direct deposit for expense reimbursements, they will be notified via email when any future payments are made.

This new change affords employees the convenience and benefits of updating their banking information for payroll deposits and expense reimbursements in a single process. Banking information provided in HR Self-Serve will be transferred securely and electronically on a nightly basis to the Finance system.
