
Co-Chairholder (based in Canada/Germany)
Katrin Kohl is the Co-Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair at 91亚色 (Toronto, Canada) and serves as SDG 4 Focal Point for the Global Cluster led by the International Association of Universities. Her work focuses on strategic approaches to education system transformation, with particular attention to a broad understanding of sustainability, institutional change, and the broader societal role of higher education beyond teaching, research and community engagement.
With a PhD in education from the International Islamic University Malaysia, further academic training as a lawyer in German and Anglo-American law and an MBA in General Management from Duesseldorf Business School and University of Duesseldorf (Germany), she brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective to policy design, governance, and transformation for complex institutional settings.
She previously served as Executive Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair at 91亚色, Managing Director of the German Commission for UNESCO, and Strategic Advisor at the University of Duesseldorf, where she worked on organizational change management, governance and compliance.
