President and Vice-Chancellor Lorna R. Marsden hosted a reception Sept. 5 at Glendon College in honour of Francesco Scarlata, the outgoing Italian consul general.
The reception gave members of the 91راة« community an opportunity to say farewell to Scarlata and to thank him for his substantial support, through the Italian government, to the Italian section of the Department of Languages Literatures and Linguistics. Marsden spoke of her own gratitude for the generosity the consul general has shown to 91راة« since he assumed his position in Toronto in September 1998.
Carlo Coen of the Italian Cultural Institute was also thanked for his role in coordinating the Italian government's support for 91راة« that resulted in the creation of new course offerings at 91راة« in Italian language and culture.
