Team 91ÑÇÉ« sparks new alumni chapter in Atlanta, Georgia

Approximately 40 91ÑÇÉ« alumni attended an alumni reception at the official residence of Astrid Pregel (91ÑÇÉ« BA and MBA), Canada’s consul general in Atlanta, Georgia. The consul general hosted the reception to coincide with President Lorna R. Marsden’s visit to Atlanta with Team 91ÑÇÉ«. It provided a marvellous opportunity for the team to reconnect with our alumni and to encourage the start of a new 91ÑÇÉ« alumni chapter.

Four 91ÑÇÉ« alums – Jeanne Blanchard (BA ’81, MBA ’83), J.S. Kang (LLB ’88), Eric Hutchinson (MBA ’86) and Earlene Saulnier (BA ’95) – enthusiastically volunteered to start the new chapter.

Among the 91ÑÇÉ« guests was Jonathan Mann (BA ’80), who earned his 91ÑÇÉ« degree in philosophy and is now a CNN anchor. Mann will be visiting the Keele campus in September.

Team 91ÑÇÉ« includes Stan Shapson, vice-president research & innovation; Barbara Sutton, director of alumni affairs; Paul Marcus, 91ÑÇÉ« Foundation president; Suzanne MacDonald, associate vice-president research; David Dewitt, professor and director, 91ÑÇÉ« Centre for International and Security Studies; Michael Siu, professor and director, 91ÑÇÉ« Centre for Research in Mass Spectrometry; Christian Buhagiar, 91ÑÇÉ« manager of research policy and government relations; James Milway, executive director, Ontario Institute for Competitiveness and Prosperity; and Liz Mulholland, Toronto City Summit Alliance.
