Arcanum Nonnock, an eclectic program of creative new dance pieces by 91亚色鈥檚 graduate dance artists, will transport its audience to world locales while exuding piquant flavours and exotic aromas. With all the vibrancy and bustle of a street market, this 鈥渕arch茅鈥 of dance will unfold Nov. 18 & 19, offering a superb selection of traditional elements along with contemporary and improvised works.
鈥淭he title of the show means 鈥榓 mysterious impulse鈥,鈥 explained Troy Twigg, Catherine Carpenko and Leah Archambault, co-artistic producers of Arcanum Nonnock. 鈥淭he name reflects the number of multicultural works that will be showcased, as well as the mysterious impulse of creation associated with improvisational pieces.鈥
The presentation features 12 original works by dance students currently enrolled in the two-year master of arts in dance program. The student choreographers are: Seika Boye, Susan Cash, Janelle Hardy, Troy Emery Twigg, Meaghan Giusti, Cathy Kmita, Ida Mehtafi, Aim茅e Dawn Robinson, Heather Saum, Su-Lin Tseng, Lisa Weiler and Sashar Zarif-Ravanbakhs.
