The (YCAR) is hosting the 2005 conference of the at the Keele campus, Oct. 14-16.
Program committee members from 91ÑÇɫ’s Faculty of Arts include sociologist Peter Vadergeest, director of YCAR, Lisa Drummond, professor of social science, Keith Barney, YCAR graduate associate from the Department of Geography, and anthropologist Judith Nagata, YCAR associate director.
The conference panels will look at three main themes: War, Conflict and Regional Politics; Economy and Ecology; and Revisioning Southeast Asia.
The conference, titled "Re-visioning Southeast Asia: Conflicts, Connections and Vulnerabilities", is open to all and pre-registration, which includes a discounted conference fee of only $90 regular ($45 student) is due by Sept. 15.
