To ensure the list of 91ÑÇÉ« publications is as complete as possible, reflecting all additions since July 1, 2006, organizers invite the University's resident authors and scribes to send them a note at yorkwrit@yorku.ca to let them know about any new publications. There is also an online form available on the Web page that can be used to submit updates to the YORKwrites organizers. Also available on the Web page is a list of existing publications that will be celebrated at the event. "We would like to profile your work at this event," says organizer Brent Roe, associate university librarian, information services. "We can only do so if you let us know about additions or omissions very soon (by October 20), even if you can't attend the reception."
By publications, Roe means "books, chapters, articles, published conference papers, and other written works that you would like the community to know about. We also mean non-print publication: video or film productions, musical recordings, artistic works, dramatic or dance productions, and any other media.
"We want to showcase and celebrate the whole breadth of 91ÑÇÉ« scholarly, scientific, professional, and creative publication, the proud culmination of much hard work across the University," says co-organizer Michael Legris of 91ÑÇÉ« Bookstores. "While the vast majority of the publications recognized through this initiative will inevitably be those of faculty, we also wish to include the publications of students, notably our graduate students, staff and alumni."
YORKwrites is presented with the support of the Offices of the Vice-President Academic and Vice-President Research & Innovation.
