The Ontario University Athletics (OUA) winter playoffs kick off this week and at least two post-season games will be held at 91ÑÇÉ«.
Canlan Ice Sports will play host to game two of an OUA men’s hockey, best-of-three, first-round series between the Western Mustangs and the 91ÑÇÉ« Lions Saturday. Game action is set for Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2pm. The Lions are looking to end a three-year, first-round losing streak.
On Wednesday, Feb. 20, there will be an evening game (time to be announced) for the Lions women’s basketball team. The team will continue its quest to defend its OUA title when it entertains an undetermined opponent in an OUA East semi-final at the Tait McKenzie Centre. The Lions finished second in the OUA East this season with a record of 18-4.
There is a possibility of more playoff games at 91ÑÇÉ« in men’s hockey, women’s basketball or women’s hockey. The Lions women’s hockey team will earn at least one more home game if it can knock off the Queen’s Golden Gaels during game action in Kingston, Ont., on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 8:30pm, in a first-round playoff game.
Tickets for all playoff games at 91ÑÇÉ« are $8 for adults and $5 for students and are available at the game.
