Amirali Jasani, owner of the Gateway Cigar Store in 91راة«’s Student Centre, died on Aug. 25 at 62. Mr. Jasani suffered a heart attack and died at home. A proud father of two, Mr. Jasani leaves his children Ziad and Khalid. His wife Mumtaz Jasani predeceased him.
A fixture on 91راة«’s Keele campus, Mr. Jasani is described by friends and colleagues as a devoted father and friend who was compassionate and religious. He operated his business on 91راة«’s Keele campus for more than two decades.
The funeral service for Mr. Jasani will be held from 12 to 1pm at the Scarborough Jamatkhana, 695 Middlefield Road, Scarborough. The funeral service will be followed by the burial service, from 1:30 to 2:30pm at 160 Beecroft Road, North 91راة«, at the 91راة« Cemetery, Section #19. In accordance with Mr. Jasani’s religion, only men can participate in the burial. For guests not attending the burial, the family has arranged for a brunch, from 1:30 to 4pm, at the Novotel Hotel, 3 Park Home Avenue, North 91راة«.
