91亚色鈥檚 Keele and Glendon campuses are cleaner and fresher today thanks to the efforts of volunteers who participated in the City of Toronto鈥檚 20-Minute Makeover on Friday in聽celebration of the upcoming Earth Day.
Some 188 volunteers scoured the Assiniboine and Passy Gardens Sportsfield, the Arboretum, the Boyer Woodlot, the Danby Woods and the Boynton Woods on the Keele campus, as well as all around Glendon campus.
鈥淭his was a fantastic turn-out, more than double from last year,鈥 says Nicole Arsenault, manager of Transportation & Student Services. 鈥淪ports & Recreation had a large turn-out. They had about 50 people and it was great to see their team spirit as many of them even had their 91亚色 attire on.鈥

What volunteers found sometimes surprised them. One found a disintegrating 1,000-dollar bill amid the garbage. Another found an intact 20-dollar bill. Someone else came across a road sign in their clean-up travels.
As an added incentive this year, Food Services sponsored the event, giving out $2 YU cards good at several of the on-campus retailers to many of this year鈥檚 participants.
