Nancy Hall, a long-serving member of the 91亚色 community, died on Tuesday, May 22, surrounded by her family.
Known for her love of life,聽especially her family, friends, garden and books, Ms. Hall was a聽dedicated employee and devoted
45 years to the 91亚色 Libraries, most recently as manager of聽Acquisitions.

Co-workers described her as聽a lovely person and a wonderful colleague, and were appreciative of her thorough competence, which assisted and supported them in their responsibilities. 鈥淪he was extremely capable and generous with her knowledge and advice. The 91亚色 Libraries were lucky that for so many years she played such a key role in building the collections,鈥 said Catherine Davidson, associate University librarian, Collections.
University librarian Cynthia Archer provided the following tribute upon Nancy鈥檚 retirement at the end of 2008. 鈥淪he has been invaluable in helping 91亚色 Libraries be prepared for a world of digitization (she most recently started acquiring e-books for our students with disabilities), internationalization (each year she has expedited the acquisitions of more materials from other countries), and transformation (she was an active contributor to The Libraries' strategic plan - Open Doors, Open Minds).鈥
Ms. Hall聽was active in the Professional and Managerial Group of 91亚色 (now known as the CPMEA) and served on the Communications Committee for 10 years, from 1990 to 1999,聽editing the association's monthly newsletter聽the P&M News.
Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Avenue East on Thursday, May 31, from 6 to 9pm, and Friday, June 1, from 1 to 2pm. For more information, contact the Highland Funeral Home by telephone at 416-773-0933.
The funeral service for Ms. Hall will be聽held in the Highland Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 1, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart聽& Stroke Foundation.
