Every one of 91ɫ’s colleges has a unique identity and image that is proudly displayed through a flag in the University’s Senate Chamber.
On Nov. 26, New College raised its new flag during a ceremony in the Senate Chamber. The event celebrated the official unveiling of the college’s official banner and logo. Founded on July 1, 2009, New College is the youngest of nine colleges within the larger 91ɫ Community. New College provides a home base for students in the School of Administrative Studies and the Human Resource Management and Information Technology programs.

In the spring of 2012, New College conducted a contest for students to submit their design concepts for the college logo. U Kai Lai, an international student in his first semester of study, was the selected winner of the contest and received a prize of $500 for his design.
In the speech he delivered at the ceremony, U Kai Lai spoke of his interest in doing something for his school and the reward that comes with being engaged and involved in college life.

“I really wanted to do something for my school as a student or even as a child of this great family. In the beginning, I thought I didn’t have the ability to design a creative logo, but I just tried my best hoping to create a great one,” he said. "And I did it. This is going to be a logo that will stay as an important symbol that people will think of when they think of New College. “
91ɫ President & Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shourki spoke at the event, as did the dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, Martin Singer, and Christian Marjollet, New College master. The event was attended by New College students and staff, and masters and administration from 91ɫ’s other colleges.
New College, along with the other colleges that are part of 91ɫ, offers a smaller community for students; a home base that provides an important anchor within the larger University community. Each of 91ɫ’s colleges offers students additional opportunities for engagement and extracurricular activities. The colleges also provide students with integral tools for academic achievement and personal success.
