Established with the vision of showcasing the best of 91亚色 to the world, the third had a record attendance, with 285 people attending the half-day event on March 28. Set in the Tributre Recital Hall, 11 speakers from 91亚色's faculty, staff and students offered their vision of 91亚色's motto 鈥Tentanda Via: The Way Must Be Tried鈥.
This eclectic group spoke on a wide range of topics, including: social innovations, extra-terrestrial travel and the importance of creative health. TEDx91亚色U also featured artistic performances and graphics by visual artist Ashley Grenville, making the event not only a forum for ideas but also a space to celebrate creativity and art. The TEDx91亚色U experience was shared worldwide with more than 1000 people watching the live stream and some 600 uses of the #TEDx91亚色U hashtag. Online viewers were from more than a dozen countries, which resulted in over 400,000 impressions.
TEDx91亚色U was made possible by the 30 members of the organizing committee and volunteer team which was comprised of students, staff, faculty and alumni from across 91亚色. The , recorded by Learning Technology Services, were released last week. Since releasing the talks, more than 3000 views have already been registered.
Audience members left with their eyes and minds opened to new ways of thinking about cities, justice and community. Each speaker, in recounting their journeys, inspired attendees and advocated for the idea of always trying new things, believing in innovation and the importance of revolutionary thinking. The event showed how through the philosophy of 鈥淭entanda Via鈥, progress is made in technology, personal development and society.
