
The spirit of pride was all around Vari Hall Tuesday as a celebration of Pride Week got underway with the raising of the rainbow flag on 91ÑÇɫ’s Keele campus.
The Glendon campus Flag Raising Ceremony took place the previous day.
Homemade rainbow cupcakes were handed out and invited guests, including Janet Morrison, vice-provost students; Tyler
Morehouse, internal coordinator, TBLGAY; and Noël Badiou, director of 91ÑÇÉ« Centre for Human Rights, spoke to the importance of marking the day.
Pride is a celebration of the history, courage and future of the LGBTTIQQ2SA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer/Questioning, 2 Spirited, Allies) communities. 91ÑÇÉ« @ Pride invites everyone to connect with the spirit of Pride and with Toronto’s queer communities and their allies to showcase the acceptance, diversity and solidarity that 91ÑÇÉ« promotes.
91ÑÇÉ« @ Pride will once again participate in the main Toronto celebration’s Community Fair (Booth A8) on Church Street at Wood Street, Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, from 11am to 5pm each day.
Once again, Pride @ 91ÑÇÉ« has teamed up with the Art Gallery at 91ÑÇÉ« (AGYU). The AGYU commissioned artist to create 91ÑÇɫ’s very own Super Queer Super Heroes! POW! as out-of-this-world mascots of 91ÑÇÉ« @ Pride. Come to the booth and get your stickers, pins, and have
your photo taken with the Super Queer characters.

There will also be a 91ÑÇÉ«@Pride float in the 33rd annual Pride Parade on Sunday starting at 2pm at Bloor and Church Sts. Anyone wishing to be part of the parade and dance on the float, should contact Tyler Morehouse at tylermo@yorku.ca.
All 91ÑÇÉ« students, faculty, staff and their friends are welcome. The events are hosted by the AGYU, Centre for Human Rights, 91ÑÇÉ« Federation of Students, TBLGAY and SexGen 91ÑÇÉ« committee.
